No matter how friendly and exciting your content might be, it is not valid without keyword research.

Let me explain how keyword research work with facts. Search engines are designed to display related information based on queries made via the search engine, becoming keywords over time.

1. Short Tail keywords or Head Terms.

Short-tail keywords are usually short phrased words with generally very high search volumes.
These are single or double word phrased keywords; they are trendy and commonly used to search general and broad terms.

Short tail keywords usually don’t convert well because they are generally very competitive.

Long-tail keywords are three to four phrases and are very specific.

These keywords are very intent, and these terms don’t get a lot of search volume individually, But when you add them together, long tails make up the majority of searches online.

Long-tail terms usually aren’t very competitive because they don’t get so much attention.

If you are starting a new blog or a website, then Long tail keywords might be the best for you.

Long-tail keywords do not require Domain authority or strict competitive search engine optimisation requirements. All you need to do is write your content filled with it, and Boom!!! The traffic comes.

Most SEO experts usually include the medium-tailed keyword alongside the two forms above of keywords, but I would rather keep it simple to avoid confusion. Just bear in mind that there are two effective forms of keywords.

There are many reasons why people look up the internet, and failure to understand this can make your keyword research a fruitless effort. So, in this section, I will be straying a little bit on search intent.

Search intent is the term used to explain the reason behind an online search. For example, the primary reason why somebody visits Google to conduct a specific search is called search intent.

There are numerous reasons why people search online, and some of these reasons include; Having a question and wanting an answer to that question? Are they looking to visit a specific website? Or are they searching because they want to purchase something? Many of these different types of searches constitute parts of the user journey.

This leads me to talk about the four types of search intent.
There are a few distinct types of search intent; these four are most commonly used:

1. Informational intent.

Informational intent is a type of search term done by people seeking out information about a particular subject or event online.

That could be information about the weather, information about tutoring children, and even the present news around them,

2. Navigational intent.

The second type of search intent is called navigational intent. People with this intent are usually on their way to a specific website.

Someone going to Google to search for the Keyword “Gmail” is usually on their way to the official website of Google mail.

The same applies when someone searches for keywords like Facebook, Nike, etc.

3. Transactional Search.

The third type of search intent is transactional intent. For example, many people purchase stuff on the internet and browse the web to find the best purchase.

People searching with transactional intent do so because they want to buy something online.

4. Commercial investigation.

This type of search intent is made by people who want to review a particular product or, better still, make comparisons.

They make conventional search queries such as; What washing machine would be best? What Email marketing software is the best? These people also have transactional intent but need some more time and convincing.

These types of search intents are usually called commercial investigating intents.

Most bloggers ignore keyword research and do content the way they like; they write from inspiration and what the thing they feel is suitable for their kind of audience.

As mentioned before, writing content without keyword research would hinder your content from doing well on the search engines.

Google auto-suggest features keyword ideas that are currently trending all over the globe.

You can quickly search the article you intend to write about and get similar ideas on what to include as keywords.

You should know about using the Google search autosuggest feature. However, you shouldn’t be logged in to why you are doing your queries because you are bound to get the result based on what you have previously searched for.

This usually appears below the search engine result page (SERP) and can serve as a rich pool of ideas for keywords.

Like with Google auto Suggest, these are keyword ideas that come straight from Google. Google is simply telling you that these keyword ideas are trending.

I decided to do this separately because YouTube is an entire platform on its own and is next to the Google search engine in search queries.
